Ganja smoke+7stud=$ and a permagrin.

I'm listening to my current theme song. "The whiteboy is back, he'll put a foot up in your asscrack"-Whitey Ford Sings the Blues CD.

I've won a decent amount of money in the last three months. I don't like to have more than $500 online at a time so I always cash out when I make a nice score. I leave enough money on PokerStars to play with and usually leave some in Neteller. I put the rest in the bank. That plan worked well the last three months. The last month or so, I haven't been making big scores and my roll dwindled. Dwindled all the way down to nada two days ago. It was a mixture of beer tilt, tilt, bad plays, and poor bankroll management. The final nail in the coffin for my withered bankroll was a flurry of kicks in the junk that would make Johnny Knoxville cringe. I was Three Outer's bitch. Oh, and if I had a slight advantage in a heads up all in hand, forget about it holding up for a mothafucka. Also included to make the tilt-o-meter rise were the rollercoaster teaser beats. You know, you have pocket 77's all in against AJ. Flop is TKx, turn 7. Yay. River Q. Fuck!

Yesterday I found $10 in my Royal Vegas account. Free money, schwing! (If any readers are trying to build a bankroll, they give you a free $10 no deposit bonus for signing up with them.) I play some lame $2 SNG's and manage to squander $10 down to $1.80. I take the loose change and put it all on a .5/.10 NLHE table. I build it up to $14.50 in about an hour. Muy bueno Senor Grandetoke! I end the night at $19.90. Today I start my session with a weak $2.50 5 person SNG. I take first for 6.75. I'm feeling frisky after that so I decided to enter a 7-card stud hi tournament for $5.50. I know that's 25% of my roll thus bad bankroll management. You aren't supposed to sit with more than 5% of your roll at one time. But there is no fuckin way I'm grinding micro limits. I just don't have it in me to do that.

As I've mentioned before, I don't think stud is my best game for a couple reasons. One, I haven't played stud very much. I know good starting hands and enough strategy to fill a thimble at least half. Secondly, memory and observation skills are vital. Smoking a fat bowl while playing stud probably isn't +EV. But do I gives a shit? Hell nahhh.

The tournament draws 63 players. I take a mandatory pre-tourney puff. I'm feeling good. I play for over three hours, no bad beats that I can remember, and to my amazement take a solid third place. Even after Fwalgman made fun of me for wondering why we weren't all sitting at the table with nine left, I was able to keep my composure. For you hold em' players out there still scratching your head like an ape going "durrr, why can't nine sit at the same table?" read Fwalg's blog. Veneno didn't catch on either so I don't feel so bad. Thanks for sharing the butt of Fwalg's joke with me Veneno. I'll be the left cheek, you can be the right. It feels good to know I can play stud ok while paying homage to the buddah gods. More than likely I just got lucky.

The third place finish was for $40, a really nice little bankroll booster. That brings my Royal Vegas roll up to $57. Hopefully in a day or two I can change my theme song to "Super Disco Breakin" by the Beastie Boys which include a repeated line "money makin, money money makin".

Weak Ass Trip Report

I left November 30th at 3pm. I arrived at the hotel around 5:45 pm. I should've got there around 5 pm but rush hour traffic and fucked up directions from Expedia kicked me in the junk. From there it was about a 1.5 hour drive to Spirit Mountain Casino in Grande Ronde, OR.My friend Jason had flown down from Alaska and we had two nights to play cards. He had never played live before because Alaska only allows bingo and pull tabs. Not even a state lottery. Retarted, I know. Honestly, I've never been to any casino other than Chinook Winds so this was going to be a new experience for me as well. As I stated in a previous post, Chinook's cardroom sucks balls. Spirit Mountain's room was ten times better. It was like the difference between Jessica Simpson and Bea Arthur. Like Heineken compared to Milaukees Best Ice. Or, perhaps like PokerStars as opposed to Titan/Noble poker. Maybe like.....ok ok enough.

We arrived Wednesday night at 8pm. Unfortunately there weren't any seats open so we put our names on the list for 2/4 limit holdem and 1/2 NL hold em. We found the lounge and ordered a beer. By the time we were done, they hadn't paged us yet. We stumbled upon video poker machines to kill time. We both lost money. Fortunately we didn't have to play long because we got paged for the poker room 10 mins later. The 2/4 limit had two seats open. Cool, or so I thought. We sit down and something occurs to me after playing for a few minutes. Everyone except for Jason and two other guys are at least fifty years old. The guy on my right is on a fuckin oxygen tank and has to be pushing 107 years old. He was a good guy but he took for fuckin ever to act. Jason was on my left and later he told me how the old guy said he got shot during deer season, haha. I heard him say he got shot but he talked so damn quietly I did the smile head nod thing with him many times. Anyways we both ended up losing money. I dropped $80 before we left.

The next night we went back and got in the $1/$2 NLHE right when we got there. I had $60 left to play with so I put it on the table. The table consisted of alot of younger college age kids. This is the table texture I was looking for, opposite of the 2/4 from the night before. I left the table with $327. It was sweet. I should've busted early. I get A3 off in the BB. It was either raised a tiny amount or I saw a free flop I can't remember. Flop is AAK. I bet 15 get called by another dude in late position. Turn is an 8 I believe. I bet again, $20 if I remember right. He calls me again. River is a lovely 3. I push in for my last $40 or so. He calls. He has AJ. He wasn't pleased. It was a $220 pot (counting the money I put in as well). That was the key hand for my succesful night. I took a decent sized pot off of Jason as well. Flop had AAx, I had AT he had A9 I believe. In the end my kicker played and I won.

It was a great time. I'm going to play at Spirit Mountain as much as possible now. It's about the same driving distance away as Chinook Winds. The only reason I've went to Chinook is because I do grocery shopping when I go there. Spirit doesn't have any shopping centers near it.

Sorry this took so long to post, and it's kinda weak. But I haven't been in the mood to write lately. Today is my birthday though and I promised to get it up by then. I'm 27 yrs old today btw. Peace.

Returned yesterday from my road trip. I had a blast. Time really flies when playing live poker. I'll write up a brief trip report later. I'd write it up now but it's 7am and I don't feel like it, heh. In the words of Dana Carvey doing George Bush Sr. "Not gun doit. Wouldn't be prudent at this juncture."
